Leafy Season Socks - Danish

50,00 kr.

Leafy Season Socks is a pair of socks with a beautiful leaf pattern that wanders down the outside of your sock, nicely highlighting a detail that can show up under a pair of pants.

Leafy Season Socks are worked from the top down on double pointed needles or on circular needles with magic loop. Start with a rib edge, which can be worked with regular knitting cast on or Italian cast on.

The leaf pattern is worked asyemmetrically on the outside of your sock to distinguish between right and left socks in the pattern. No auxiliary needles are used for the pattern, which consists of yarn overs and stitches knitted or purled together.

The pattern includes both a diagram and row-by-row descriptions.

Description

Sizes

Str 1 (2) 3 (4)

Goal

Shaft circumference corresponds to 19-20 (20-21) 21-22 (22-23) cm but can be stretched further

The size should be determined by the width of the shaft rather than shoe size, as the sock is knitted to the length that fits the foot, with the number of cast-on stitches determining the width of the sock. The pattern provides guideline measurements that you can use for shoe sizes

Knitting tension

approx 28 sts and 38 rounds = 10 x 10 cm worked in stockinette stitch on needle size 2.5 mm

Guiding sticks

2.5 mm double pointed needles (or 80 cm circular needle for magic loop)

Materials

Sock yarn, typically 210 - 220 meters per 50 grams. Recommended yarns are Merida from Lamana, Arwetta from Filcolana, Jawoll from Lang Yarns or hand-dyed Sock

50 (50) 75 (100) grams for a pair of socks

Yarn consumption is indicative as it ultimately depends on the desired foot length.
