Sakura Open Vest is a versatile and classic top that can be worn both as a vest and a top. Knit it in a summer-friendly yarn for a cute summer top, but you can also use it as a vest or sleeveless cardigan over dresses, shirts etc.

The cute Sakura pattern runs as a vine along the front button placket.

The Sakura Open Vest is worked from the bottom up, with the sakura pattern facing the right way. Shoulders from front and back are sewn together with invisible stitches.

You can knit according to the visual knitting diagram or the row to row description of the pattern report, which is a small repetitive pattern.

A minimum range of motion of 4-15 cm is recommended depending on preference, but consider not having too much range of motion for sizes XL-4XL.

Knitting tension

24 sts x 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm worked in stockinette stitch on 3.5 mm needles
Gauge is measured after cast-on and block

Materials

Silk mohair, for example Tilia from Filcolana or Kid Seta from Gepard Garn, 25 grams = 210 meters

Guiding sticks

3.0 and 3.5 mm circular needle (80 cm long for body and 40 cm for neck and armhole)
