Sakura Sleeves - English

50,00 kr.

Knitpattern - Sakura Sleeves are a pair of wrist warmers that can double for a warm decorative sleeve or a kind of cuff. Perfect for cold days in the office and can easily be styled under a button down shirt or other blouses and shirts.

They are knit on doublepointed needles or a circular needle using the magic loop technique with a small rib followed by the Sakura Pattern and finished with a wavy lace edge.

You only need 1 ball of Cashmere Premium from Lang Yarns or you can knit 2 pairs in the hand dyed merino.

Level of difficulty 4/5:

Sakura Sleeves is a great project for you, if you have already tried to knit a bit of lace, but maybe have a wish to get even better.

Techniques used are lave knitting, yarn over, SSK 2 and TBL and understanding a knitting charts. There is also a written description of the full chart.

The name of these Sakura Sleeves was decided since the lace pattern resembles branches which lead my thoughts to the beautiful japanese Sakura

Size

After washing and blocking: 8.5 cm (meaning 17 in circumference laying flat) x 16.5 cm in length

If you want your sleeves bigger in circumference then increase needle size by 0.5 - 1 mm. You can easily add another yarn strand if you want the stitches to be a tighter knit. For this I recommend Cashmere Lace from Gepard Cashmere Lace from Gepard or a Baby Alpaca lace for example Piura from Lamana

Gauge

Around 28 sts = 10 cm in Sakura Pattern on 2.5 mm needles. Gauge has been measured after washing and blocking

Materials

1 ball Cashmere Premium from Lang Yarns, 25 grams = 115 meters

Double pointed needles 2.5 mm
