Welcome to my little, geeky world with a focus on knitting!

My name is Dorte Bak Askholm and I love knitting and developing fine knitting patterns that are easy to work with, so you get a beautiful and timeless result that can give you endless joy.

I learned to knit as a child, but only started knitting seriously based on patterns as an adult. In 2018 I started designing myself and have since published my own patterns.

My universe is based on a great joy in the process and the material. I knit to get creative, to de-stress and to care for myself. The pleasure of sitting with the yarn in my hands is almost enough in itself…

The weakness for yarn has been there for as long as I can remember, and I have a natural curiosity for playing with fibers, materials and colors.

Dorte Bak Knitting

Dorte Bak Knitting is a one-woman show and I only work part-time with my brand. Therefore, I (and you) must accept that I can only deliver new patterns and updates at a certain and realistic pace.

My entire collection is timeless and feminine with room for both simple expressions and playful and detailed elements. My patterns are test knitted and checked before they are published, and they are ready to download as soon as your purchase is completed.

The knitting patterns come with thorough descriptions, links to video guides and techniques.

Size inclusion as a knitwear designer:

As a designer, I want to reach a wide audience of knitters, regardless of nationality or size. However, publishing patterns for a broad audience is something I take seriously, and therefore it takes time to thoroughly test all designs and sizes.

When I first started publishing recipes in 2018, one recipe included sizes XS to XL. Since then, I have begun working on revisiting previously published recipes so that they can be relaunched with sizes up to 4XL. This is a constant work in progress behind the scenes, and all new releases are of course calculated from scratch.
