Leafy Season Socks are a pair of socks with a beautiful leaf pattern that runs down the outside of your sock, nicely highlighting a detail that can be visible under a pair of pants.
Leafy Season Socks are knitted top down on double pointed needles or circular needles with magic loop. You start with a rib edge, which can be worked with regular knit cast-ons or Italian cast-ons.
The leaf pattern is knitted asymmetrically on the outside of your sock, so that there is a distinction between right and left socks in the pattern. No auxiliary needles are used for the pattern, which consists of yarn overs and stitches knitted together in knit or purl.
The pattern includes both a diagram and stitch-by-stitch descriptions.
Sizes
Size 1 (2) 3 (4)
Goal
The circumference of the shaft corresponds to 19-20 (20-21) 21-22 (22-23) cm but can be stretched further.
The size should be determined by the width of the shaft rather than the shoe size, as the sock is knitted to the length that fits the foot, where the number of cast-on stitches determines the width of the sock. There are guidelines in the pattern that you can follow in relation to shoe sizes.
Knitting strength
approx. 28 sts and 38 rows = 10 x 10 cm knitted in stocking stitch on needle size 2.5
