Sakura Beanie is a cute and feminine beanie, which with its lace pattern is both fun to knit and beautiful to wear. The design of the beanie is made so that it fits the head without extra length, but you can easily add that if desired.
The hat is knitted from the bottom up, starting with a ribbed edge, after which the Sakura pattern is established and the top of the hat is finally knitted in stocking stitch with decreases that give a spiral-like look.
The hat is knitted on a 40 cm circular needle with a knitting tension of approx. 16 sts = 10 cm knitted in stocking stitch / approx. 18 sts = 10 cm knitted in Sakura pattern. I achieve the knitting tension on a 4.0 mm needle, while some of the test knitters had to knit on a 4.5 mm needle.
There are links to relevant video guides in the recipe if you need help with the techniques.
