Sakura Sleeves are a pair of beautiful wrist warmers that also act as decorative sleeves. A really nice gift idea, but also indispensable for those of you who freeze a little throughout the winter.
Sakura Sleeves are knitted from a single skein of Cashmere Premium from Lang Yarns. They are a cozy, laid-back project that is quick to knit - the pattern is repetitive and fun to work with.
Sakura Sleeves is a great project for those of you who have already dabbled in pattern knitting but would like to master it better.
Techniques in the pattern include pattern knitting, where yarn overs, 2 stitches knitted together leaning to the right and left, and diagram understanding are particularly important. The pattern is described with words and explanations, as well as with a diagram.
There are links to relevant video guides in the recipe if you need help with the techniques.
Goal
Final dimensions after washing and block: 8.5 (i.e. 17 cm in circumference lying flat) and 16.5 in length
The measurements are flat, but they are stretchable up to a few cm in circumference, which simply highlights the pattern.
If you want your sleeves to be larger in circumference, go up a half or full row. You can easily add a guide thread if you want to ensure a tight stitch pattern. Here we recommend a Cashmere Lace from Gepard or a Baby Alpaca Lace.
Knitting strength
approx. 28 sts = 10 cm knitted in Sakura pattern on needle size 2.5. The knitting tension is measured after rinsing and blocking.
Materials
