The Sakura Beanie is a cute and feminine hat with a lace pattern that is both fun to knit and beautiful to wear. The design of the hat is made to fit the head without extra length, but you can easily add it if desired.

The hat is worked from the bottom starting with a ribbed edge, after which the Sakura pattern is established and the top of the hat is finally worked in stockinette stitch with decreases for a spiral look.

The hat is knitted on a 40 cm circular needle with a gauge of approx. 16 sts = 10 cm worked in stockinette / approx. 18 sts = 10 cm worked in Sakura pattern. I hit the gauge on a 4.0 mm needle, while some of the test knitters had to knit on a 4.5 mm needle.

Cashsock Chunky from Gepard, 100 grams = 183 sts or hand-dyed Chunky Sock:
(40) 45 (60) grams

or you can hold a regular sock yarn double and knit with it

Knitting tension

approx. 16 sts = 10 cm worked in stockinette stitch on 4.0 mm needles
approx. 18 sts = 10 cm worked in Sakura pattern on 4.0 mm needles

Knitting tension is measured after wash-up and block
